Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Removal Procedure

Place a basin
underneath. |

Note: DO NOT use an
open end wrench on the hex on top of the oil filter cap.
|
3. |
Remove the engine oil filter
cap (1) along with: |
|
• |
engine oil filter cap seal
ring (2) |
|
• |
2 oil filter seal rings
(4) |
5. |
Open the front compartment
insulator service opening. |
6. |
Place a drain pan under the
oil drain plug. |
7. |
Remove the oil pan drain plug
(2) and the gasket (1). |
Installation Procedure
1. |
Install a NEW oil pan drain
plug seal ring (1) to the oil pan drain plug (2). |
2. |
Install the oil pan drain plug
and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft) .

3. |
Close the front compartment
service opening. |

Caution: Lubrication must be applied to the threads of the oil
filter cap prior to installation. Failure to lubricate the oil
filter cap threads can hinder later removal and cause possible oil
filter cap damage. |
|
Note: DO NOT use an
open end wrench on the hex on top of the oil filter cap.
|
5. |
Install the engine oil filter
cap along with: |
|
• |
NEW oil filter element
(3) |
|
• |
2 NEW oil filter seal rings
(4) |
|
• |
NEW engine oil filter cap seal
ring (2) |
6. |
Lubricate the oil filter cap
threads and the seal ring with clean engine oil. |
7. |
Tighten the engine oil filter
cap to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) . |
