Lock Cylinder - Front Door, Replace

Remove

Remove inner door trim panel.

Remove water vapour barrier.

Disconnect control linkage.

Release clip from housing in forward direction.

Remove lock cylinder outwards through bore hole in door.

Remove lock cylinder from housing.

Insert ignition key in lock cylinder.

Wedge screwdriver between housing and carrier.

Press off casting and carrier from housing.

Pull lock cylinder from housing.

Remove snap ring.

1     Casting

2     Carrier

3     Snap ring

Install

Install in reverse order.

Installation sequence:

1     Ignition key

2     Lock cylinder

3     Snap ring (new part)

4     Housing

5     Seal ring

6     Spiral spring

7     Carrier

8     Casting (carrier)

Ensure that the ends of the spiral spring are crossed when installed on the housing.

Press carrier (7) and casting (8) onto housing.
