Folding Roof, Replace

Model 43-B

Remove

Remove rear screen (see "Rear Screen, Replace - Model 43-B").

Remove rear quarter inner trim panel (left and right).

1     Remove button of upholstery mat

2     Unscrew both brackets of rear screen frame

3     Remove mounting strip of inner covering

Carefully loosen cement at upper edge of upholstery mat and inner covering from rear end panel.

Open folding roof.

Detach rubber cable of inner covering.

Loosen folding roof mounting.

1     Mounting screws - folding roof (layout)

2     Unscrew hex nut and detach pneumatic spring

3     Unscrew and detach tensioning cable

4     Separate cable connection for rear screen heater

Unscrew outer buttons.

1     Pull outer covering out of gutter

2     Loosen cement of inner covering

3     Bend retaining pin of tension belt and remove

Unscrew mounting bolts of folding roof.

Remove roof (2 mechanics required).

Install

Place folding roof loosely in position (2 mechanics).

Initially tighten folding roof screws.

Install tension belts and secure mounting pins.

1     Cement inner covering to panel edge (plastic cement)

2     Coat gutter with dry lubricant

3     Insert outer covering in gutter and evenly tension tensioning cable on left and right.

       Ensure outer covering is seated evenly.

Tighten outer press buttons.

Mount pneumatic spring.

Tension folding roof at front.

Tighten screws of folding roof.

Attach rubber cable.

1     Rubber cable

2     Pneumatic spring

Connect cable connection to heated rear screen.

1     Mount rear inner covering and upholstery mat to rear end panel (plastic cement and press buttons)

2     Install mounting strip of inner covering.

3     Attach rubber cable of inner covering.

Mount attaching parts.
