Fluid Pump Valve Body
and/or Gasket,
Replace
Raise vehicle.
Unscrew cover for fluid pump
valve body (11 screws).
Note: Loosen
cover by tapping lightly (see arrow) with rubber mallet.
Remove cover with gasket.
Gasket must not be reused.

Pull out kickdown cable (1)
at kickdown actuator.
Unscrew kickdown actuator
(2) - 2 screws.

|
Unscrew fluid pump valve
body from main case cover.
Note: Do
not remove screw "A" on fluid pump cover. Remove screw
"B" with Torx No. 40.
Remove retainer for cold
running pipe.
Note: Do not remove cold running pipe.

|
Remove fluid pump valve body
with backing plate and gaskets.
Gaskets must not be reused.
Important: Fluid escapes. Place suitable receptacle underneath.
Note: Be
careful that neither check ball in valve body nor any of the 5 check balls in
main case cover are lost.
If work on fluid pump is
necessary, fluid pump cover must be unscrewed from fluid pump valve body.
Insert check ball in valve
body with Installation Grease 19 42 530 (90 093 201 Petrolatum).

Insert 5 check balls with
Installation Grease 19 42 530 (90 093 201 Petrolatum) in main case cover.
|
|
|
Secure fluid pump valve body
with backing plate and new gaskets to main case cover - screws M6 with torque
11 Nm/8.11 lbf. ft. and screws M8 with torque 24 Nm/17.7 lbf. ft.
Note: For
better installation, install gaskets with Installation Grease 19 42 530 (90
093 201 Petrolatum).
Install retainer for cold
running pipe.

D = M8 x 65 (1 screw)
E = M8 x 85 (1 screw - Torx No. 40)
F = M8 x 130 (1 screw)
G = M6 x 90 (3 screws)
Screw on kickdown actuator.
Attach kickdown cable to
kickdown actuator.
Install cover for fluid pump
valve body with new gasket and secure with 11 screws - torque 11 Nm/8.11 lbf.

Note: The
three upper screws of the cover can be more easily inserted from the engine
compartment.
Lower vehicle.
Correct transmission fluid
level - see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct"
in this group.
Note: Check
adjustment of kickdown cable and correct if necessary - see operation in this
group.
