Airbag Unit (Passenger's Side), Remove and
Install
 Remove
| 1. |
Disconnect battery
Note: Wait for 1 minute
until capacitor has discharged
|
| 2. |
Glove Compartment, Remove and Install 
|
| 3. |
Remove airbag unit
| • |
Unlatch and disconnect wiring harness plug (1) at airbag
unit
|
|
|
|
| 4. |
Lift airbag unit from brackets of the steering crossmember and
remove through the glove compartment cut-out on the passenger's
side
|
|
|
Important: Always set aside
airbag unit with screw connection side downwards.
|
| 5. |
|
Install
| 6. |
Install airbag unit
| • |
Connect and latch wiring harness plug
|
| • |
Inset airbag locking mechanism (1) in steering crossmember
brackets (2) and screw firmly in place
| – |
Tighten 2 bolts (2) 8 Nm
|
|
|
Important: Check correct
engagement of the wiring harness plug.
|

Install glove compartment
|

Perform readiness check
|
| 11. |
Program volatile memories
|
