Heater Mat – Leather Front Seat / Leather Front Seat Backrest, Remove and Install

Note:   The following operations on the front seat are also to be carried out analogously on the front seat backrest.

  Remove

Detach front seat upholstery from cushion – see operation "Upholstery/Cushion – Front Seat, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Cut open upholstery along perforated incisions (1).

Cut off wiring connections (2) with scissors.

Detach cover from cemented thermosensor and remove thermosensor.

Remove heater mat wiring harness and remove heater mat.

  Install

Insert heater mat (1).

Place heater mat wiring harness and heater mat thermosensor (2) in original positions.

Fold over ends of heater mat and cement fold-free with upholstery (3).

Note:   When putting together cushion and upholstery, ensure that no loops are formed in wiring harness (wire break hazard).

Pull upholstery over cushion. Fasten cushion to front seat frame.

After assembly of front seat cushion / front seat backrest to front seat frame, connect front seat / front seat backrest wiring harness plugs and push under upholstery (front seat backrest) on tunnel side.

Caution

On installation, apply adhesive tape in vicinity of wiring harness on front seat frame. Use commercially available textile adhesive tape.
