Disconnect battery. Raise vehicle.

  Remove

Unscrew propshaft at output flange (3 fastening bolts with fastening nuts). Press propshaft (1) backwards with a screwdriver and lay aside.

Unscrew fastening nuts for output flange. (Socket A/F 30, extra long), counterhold with KM-623 (2).

Remove output flange (3) from output shaft. If tight, use Remover KM-628-A.

  Inspect

Check O-ring of output flange for wear and damage, replace if necessary.

Remove seal ring using KM-586 (2) in conjunction with KM-J-7004 (1).

  Install

Install new seal ring flush using KM-629-1 (3).

Push on output flange (2) and tighten fastening nut – 100 Nm / 74 lbf. ft. Counterhold with KM-623 (1).

Torque/angle method

Propshaft (3) to output flange (3 new fastening bolts with fastening nuts): For Torx bolts M10 – tighten in 2 stages 50 Nm / 37 lbf. ft. + 75° to 90°. For hex bolts M12 – 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft.

  Inspect

Check transmission fluid level and correct – see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct".
