Automatic Transmission - Loss of oil at bore for 7-pin connection

Loss of oil at bore for 7-pin connection in transmission main housing.

 

Cause:

Tolerances of bore in the housing and alteration of material of sealing ring after long downtime.

Production Solution:

 

Remedy:

Replace radial seal ring of 7-pin connector.

 

 

Eliminate loss of oil at plug X9

-      remove cover of transmission. Drain oil of transmission

-      demount oil pan of main transmission housing

-      disconnect plug connection X9

-      unlatch plug housing (1) from transmission and replace radial seal ring (commercial, í 20 mm x 3 mm)

-      latch plug housing to transmission and insert a second radial seal ring (commercial, í 20 mm x 3 mm or order from Serv. Dept.) through the opening of transmission housing from the top over the plug housing to prevent intrusion of dirt.

-      mount oil pan with a new sealing and fasten screws with a torque of 12 Nm.
