Clamp brake caliper with protective jaws in vice. Insert piece of hardwood into brake lining slot and carefully press out piston with compressed air. Remove protective sleeve (1). Carefully remove seal ring (2) with plastic wedge out of groove in brake caliper. Press sliding collars (3) with screwdriver out of housing.
Clean Clean piston and bore holes with brake fluid or alcohol only - under no circumstance use other fluids. Replace seal ring and protective sleeve.
Inspect Check pistons and bore holes for wear - if piston is defective or rusted, completely replace brake caliper. |
