Brake Caliper - Front Wheel Brake, Remove and Install  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Correct brake fluid level up to "MAX" marking and seal with Dummy Screw Cap MKM-558-10.   Remove front wheel. Carefully detach brake lining sensor (3) and unclip wiring harness out of bracket (2). Unscrew banjo bolt (1).     Important!    Brake fluid escapes - collect and close off openings.     Remove, Disconnect    Lever out retaining springs (4) and remove. Remove dust caps (5) from guide bolts. Unscrew guide bolts (6). Remove brake caliper. Press brake lining with retaining clamp out of piston. Remove other brake lining from brake carrier.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Unscrew bolts (1) from steering knuckle and remove brake carrier.     Install, Connect    Attach brake carrier to steering knuckle.   Insert brake linings. Attach brake calliper to brake carrier. Insert dust caps. Attach banjo bolt with new seal rings to brake calliper. Fit retaining spring. Carefully press in brake lining sensor and clip wiring harness into bracket. Attach front wheel.     Tighten (Torque)    Brake carrier to steering knuckle - 95 Nm / 70 lbf. ft. 1) .   Brake calliper to brake carrier - 30 Nm / 22 lbf. ft.   Banjo bolt to brake calliper - 40 Nm / 30 lbf. ft.   Wheel to wheel hub - 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.     Inspect    Bleed brake system bleed and check for leaks - see operation "Brake System, Bleed and Check for Leaks".

1)  Re-cut thread before re-use and insert new bolts with bolt locking compound (red).
