Brake Disc, Precision Turning
Remove, Disconnect Remove relevant wheel.
Measure Check surface condition of brake disc. Measure thickness of brake disc with MKM-230-A.
Minimum thickness of front brake discs after precision turning: |
For all engines except Y 16 XE, X 20 XEV, X 25 XE, Y 26 SE, C 20 SEL, C 22 SEL: |
22 mm |
For Y 16 XE, X 20 XEV, X 25 XE, Y 26 SE, C 20 SEL, C 22 SEL: |
23 mm |
Minimum thickness of rear brake discs after precision turning: |
9 mm |
Once these dimensions have been attained, new brake linings may only be installed once more. After this, the brake discs must be replaced.
Important! Always precision turn both discs on one axle. Before starting, note manufacturer's instructions! When machining the rear brake discs, start on the left side. On the right side, the brake disc lathe is turned 180 ° - the settings for the left side can be adopted. When machining the front brake discs, start on the right side. On the left side, the brake disc lathe is turned 180 ° - the adjustments for the right side can be adopted.
Remove, Disconnect Remove corresponding brake calliper - see operation "Brake Calliper - Front Wheel Brake, Remove and Install" or "Brake Calliper - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install". To rework the front brake discs, the brake carrier must also be removed. For the left side of the vehicle, the lathe (1) is rotated through 180 ° .
Install, Connect Attach relevant brake caliper - see operation "Brake Caliper - Front Wheel Brake, Remove and Install" or "Brake Caliper - Rear Wheel Brake, Remove and Install". Attach relevant wheel.
