Coolant Flange (DIS Ignition Module Adapter), Remove and Install Notice: F 4100 shows X 18 XE, X 20 XEV.
 Remove, Disconnect Remove lower coolant hose from radiator - collect escaping coolant. Disconnect wiring harness plug from coolant temperature sender, coolant temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, tank vent valve and DIS ignition module and remove. In X 18 XE, X 20 XEV: Disconnect wiring harness plug from exhaust gas recirculation valve. Detach vacuum hose (2) from tank vent valve - when detaching the vacuum hose from the valve body, ensure that the valve connection is not damaged. Damaged valves must be replaced.
 Important! Damaged valve connections may lead to vehicle fires as a result of leaks.
Remove, Disconnect Detach DIS ignition module (3) from adapter. In X 18 XE, X 20 XEV: Pull vacuum hose (1) from exhaust gas recirculation valve. |

Remove, Disconnect In X 18 XE, X 20 XEV: Remove secondary air combination valve - see operation "Secondary Air Combination Valve, Remove and Install (X 18 XE, X 20 XEV)" in group "L". Remove fastening bolts (1) and remove DIS ignition module adapter.
 Clean Remove gasket remnants and clean sealing surfaces.
 Install, Connect Connect DIS ignition module adapter with new seal to cylinder head - tightening torque (M8) 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft., (M10) 30 Nm / 22.1 lbf. ft. Connect DIS ignition module to DIS ignition module adapter - tightening torque 8 Nm / 5.9 lbf. ft. Connect vacuum hose to tank vent valve. Attach wiring harness plug to coolant temperature sender, coolant temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, tank vent valve and DIS ignition module and connect. |

Install, Connect For X 18 XE, X 20 XEV: Install secondary air combination valve - see operation "Secondary Air Combination Valve, Remove and Install (X 18 XE, X 20 XEV)" in group "L". Attach vacuum hose and wiring harness plug to exhaust gas recirculation valve. Install lower coolant hose on radiator. Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks".
