Power Steering Pump, Remove and Install (X 17 DT)     Remove, Disconnect    Siphon off hydraulic fluid.   Remove air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Housing, Remove and Install" in group "J".   For vehicles with AC: remove compressor V-belt and remove compressor - see operation "Compressor, Remove and Install" in group "D".   Release power steering pump V-belt tension and remove tensioning screw - see operation "V-belt for Power Steering Pump, Remove and Install (X 17 DT)":   Remove pressure line (1) and return line (3) - place collecting basin underneath.   Remove fastening bolt (2) and remove power steering pump with retaining tie.

  Install, Connect   

Install power steering pump with retaining tie onto power steering pump support - tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.  

Install pressure line on power steering pump - tightening torque 28 Nm / 21 lbf. ft.  

Attach return line to power steering pump - tightening torque 2.5 Nm / 2 lbf. ft.  

Position and tension power steering pump V-belt - see operation "V-belt for Power Steering Pump, Remove and Install (X 17 DT)".  

For vehicles with AC: install compressor and compressor V-belt - see operation "Compressor, Remove and Install" in group "D".  

Install air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Housing, Remove and Install" in group "J".  

  Inspect   

Charge and bleed hydraulic system - see operation "Hydraulic System, Charge and Bleed".
