Power Steering Pump, Remove and Install (X 25 XE, Y 26 SE)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove battery. Siphon off hydraulic fluid. Remove air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Housing, Remove and Install" in group "J". Release pulley bolts (1).   Mark running direction of ribbed V-belt. Release ribbed V-belt tension in clockwise direction by means of ribbed V-belt tension roller and KM-913-A, and remove ribbed V-belt from power steering pump pulley. Remove bolts (1) and remove power steering pump pulley.   Remove intake pipe (2) - see operation "Intake Pipe (Above Cylinders 2-4-6), Remove and Install" in group "J".

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove fluid reservoir (1) - place collecting basin underneath.   Remove line (2) from fluid reservoir. Remove return line bracket (3) and set aside return line with fluid reservoir.   Remove front exhaust manifold heat shield (4).   Remove upper coolant hose (5) - collect escaping coolant.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) (only X 25 XE).   Remove bolt (3) for oil dipstick guide tube and pull oil dipstick guide tube from cylinder block.   Remove pressure line (6) and vacuum line (5).   Remove bolts (4) and (1) and remove power steering pump with bracket.     Install, Connect    Install power steering pump with bracket - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. Attach power steering pump pressure lines - tightening torque 37.5 Nm / 28 lbf. ft. Attach return line to power steering pump - tightening torque 2.5 Nm / 2 lbf. ft.

  Install, Connect   

Connect wiring harness plug for pressure sensor (only X 25 XE).  

Insert oil dipstick guide tube and attach.  

Install exhaust manifold heat shield - tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.  

Attach return line with bracket. Attach return line to fluid reservoir - tightening torque 2.5 Nm / 2 lbf. ft., install fluid reservoir.  

Connect upper coolant hose.  

Install intake pipe - see operation "Intake Pipe (Above Cylinders 2-4-6), Remove and Install" in group "J".  

Install pulley with new bolts on power steering pump - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. + 30 ° + 15 ° .  

Tension ribbed V-belt tension roller clockwise with KM-913-A and position ribbed V-belt - note running direction of ribbed V-belt.  

Install air cleaner housing - see operation "Air Cleaner Housing, Remove and Install" in group "J". Install battery.  

  Inspect   

Charge and bleed hydraulic system - see operation "Hydraulic System, Charge and Bleed".  

Top up cooling system - see operations "Cooling System, Top Up and Bleed" and "Cooling System, Check for Leaks" in group "J".
