Checking cold acceleration enrichment (engine code: DX and KT 08.84 >)

Note:

  • ◆ On engines with code letters DX and KT the cold acceleration enrichment is fitted as standard from 08.84.
  • ◆ On engines with code letters DX and KT up to 07.84, or engines with code letters JH and vacuum switch form 08.87 the cold acceleration enrichment can be retrofitted =>see page25-57 .
  • ◆ The cold acceleration enrichment is only in operation when the thermo time switch, diaphragm pressure switch and idling switch are close.
  • ◆ Cold start valve OK checking =>page 25-54 .
 
U25-0021
  • ‒ → Pull connector off cold start valve -N17- and connect diode test lamp V.A.G 1527 using aux. cables from V.A.G 1594.
 
V28-0567
  • ‒ → Pull connector off thermo time -F26-.
  • ‒ Using aux. cables from V.A.G 1594 connect contact -2- (green/white wire to terminal W on thermo time switch) to earth.
Attention!
Do not connect contact -1- (red/black wire to terminal G of thermo time switch) to earth as there is a danger of short circuit.
  • ‒ Start engine and let it idle.
  • Diode test lamp must not light up.
  • ‒ Increase speed by quickly opening the throttle.
  • Test lamp must light up briefly (about 0.4 seconds) otherwise.
    • ‒ Checking diaphragm pressure switch =>page 25-66 ,
    • ‒ Check idling switch =>page 25-68 ,
    • ‒ Check wiring and connections in accordance with CFD.
