Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1783-
Removing
  W00-0990
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove middle dash panel trim → Chapter.
–  Remove side dash panel cover on front passenger side → Chapter.
–  Remove lower A-pillar trim → Chapter.
–  Open glove compartment cover and unscrew bolts -1- (1.5 Nm), then close glove compartment cover.
–  Unscrew remaining bolts -3- (1.5 Nm).
–  Release glove compartment -2- from dash panel and remove.
–  Disconnect wiring harnesses and plugs as you do so, depending on vehicle equipment level.

Installing
  Note
Before installing, check all fasteners for damage and renew if necessary.
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
–  Insert centring drift -4- into mounting -5-.
–  All mountings for glove compartment must be properly engaged in dash panel with retaining clips.
