Service Manual Update: Synchronizing Passenger Power Seat Rails
BACKGROUND
When replacing parts of the drive mechanism in passenger power seats, you must resynchronize the inner and outer rails. This procedure is not included
in the service manual.
SYNCHRONIZING PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Do not pull on the synchronizer cable at any time during a repair.
1.
Remove the mounting bolt covers and seat mounting bolts.
2.
Push the slide switch to move the seat all the way back.
3.
Tip the seat up and back against the rear seat to ease access to the synchronizer cable.
4.
Loosen the nuts, and remove the synchronizer cable from the slave (outer rail) side of the seat.
5.
Push the switch to move the seat forward about 1 inch, or until the inner rail is ahead of the outer rail.
