Hood Insulator / Pad: Service and Repair
Hood Insulator Replacement
1. Remove the charge air cooler air duct See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Turbocharger/Intercooler/Intercooler
Duct/Service and Repair.
2. Using a clip remover, detach the clips. Release the hooks (A), then remove the hood insulator (B). Take care not to scratch the hood.
3. Install the insulator in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
