Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to body ground in the wire between paddle shifter connector terminal No. 1 and the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.
NO -
Install a new No. 6 (7.5 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box, then go to step 4.
8. Remove the gauge control module See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair.
9. Check for continuity between paddle shifter connector terminal No. 2 and gauge control module connector A (32P) terminal No. 21.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Check the illumination control circuit in the gauge control module self-diagnostic function See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning
Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview. If the test results are OK, replace the paddle
shifter See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Paddle Shifter Replacement.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between paddle shifter connector terminal No. 2 and the gauge control module.
