CYLINDER HEAD

REMOVING/REFITTING

  • Follow the first steps of the procedure "REMOV-ING/REFITTING ENGINE" up to removal of the corrugated sleeve.
  1. Slacken the fastening screws and remove the ignition coils cover.
Engine with ignition coils cover being removed.
  1. Disconnect the electrical connections from the ig-nition coils.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the cool-ant temperature sensor.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connection from the en-gine coolant temperature gauge transmitter and maxi-mum temperature warning light contact.
Engine with electrical connections being disconnected.
  1. Disconnect the coolant delivery sleeve to the radi-ator from the thermostatic cup.
  2. Disconnect the return sleeve from the radiator from the coolant return manifold to the pump.
Coolant pipes being disconnected from the thermostat cup.
  1. Disconnect the system supply pipe from the header tank.
Earth cable and injector electrical connections being disconnected.
  1. Disconnect the earth cable from the cylinder head.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connections from the in-jectors.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connection from the timing variator and move the associated wiring to one side.
Coolant pipes being disconnected from the thermostat cup.
  1. Disconnect the coolant delivery and return pipe for the climate control unit heater from the thermostatic cup.
  2. Disconnect the coolant delivery pipe to the heat exchanger for the engine lubrication circuit from the thermostatic cup.
