First check for leaks from or damage to the fuel tank.

• Repair the fuel tank, or replace if necessary (Op. 1040A14 )

Check the rear air outlet vents. In particular, ascertain:

• Fin seal (they should open outwards)
• correct fitting

• Restore the fittings to the correct position (Op. 5010C60 )

Check that the tank vent is positioned correctly

• Reposition vent correctly (Op. 1040A14 )

Check the tank filler; in particular:

• fitting compartment seal on wing
• fitting condition
• cap seal

• Renew the filler (Op. 1040A30 )

• Renew the cap (Op. 1040A40 )

Check the seal of the fuel pump/gauge cover gasket

• Replace the gasket or replace the cover (Op. 1040A70 )

Check the vapour recovery system for leaks

• Tighten fittings, clamps. Replace any damaged components, if necessary

• Restore correct boot seal

Check that the underbody plugs are fitted, in the area of the luggage compartment
