U03 Exhaust gas smell from boot

With the car in motion, a smell of exhaust gas is noted coming from the rear area.

Step	Test procedure	Result	Action
1	CHECK AIR OUTLET FITTINGS Check the rear air outlet fittings In particular, ascertain: fin position (they should open outward) correct fitting	OK	Move onto step 2
1		fitting anomalies	Restore the fittings to the correct position Op. 5010C60 End of diagnosis
2	CHECKING BOOT LID SEAL Check the boot lid seal. In particular, check the sealing strip for wrinkles	OK	Move onto step 3
2		Fitting of seal incorrect	Fit the sealing strip correctly Op. 7025B66 End of diagnosis
3	CHECKING BOOT ALIGNMENT Check tail-gate is correctly fitted. In particular, check the boot compartment/lid alignment. Ensure the sealing strip is in contact around the entire perimeter.	OK	Move onto step 4
3		Boot installation faulty	Refit the boot correctly Op. 7025B10 End of diagnosis
4	CHECK BOOT FRAME SEAL Check that boot is sealed correctly.	OK	Move onto step 5
4		Boot seal faulty	Restore correct boot seal End of diagnosis
5	UNDERBODY CHECK Check that the underbody plugs in the boot area are present	OK	Move onto step 6
5		Underbody plugs missing	Refit missing plugs End of diagnosis
6	CORRECT OPERATION CHECK	OK	End of diagnosis
6	CORRECT OPERATION CHECK	Fault persists	Incorrect selection of diagnostic procedure
