EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION

2.0 JTS, 3.2 V6, 1.9 JTD 16V

The engine is running smoothly, but the oil consumption is higher than previously recorded during the life of the vehicle.

1.8 T.SPARK

High consumption during the first few thousand kilometres is considered normal.

1CYLINDER HEAD OIL PENETRATION CHECKAll OKProblems metOperation

1.9 JTD 16V

2.0 JTS

Remove the cylinder head [PR_1016C10] and check:

  • That there are no carbon deposits in the combustion chambers and on the inlet valves
  • That the valve stems are not worn
Continue to Step 2Excessive clearance between the valve stem and valve guide and between the valve stem and oil seal

Replace the damaged/worn components Op.

Op. 1016E10 SINGLE CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVED - OVERHAUL
