About the 100
The Audi 100 was made from 1968 to 1997 over four generations and was sold in North America as the 5000 from 1978 to 1988. After a mild restyle in 1993 it was renamed the A6. Its traditional rivals were the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.
What these manuals cover
- 1989–1991 (C3): the 2.3-litre five-cylinder, in sedan and wagon, with or without quattro.
- 1992 (C4): the 2.8-litre V6, in 100, S and CS form.
Tip: earlier North American cars are in the Audi 5000 manuals, and later ones in the A6 manuals.
