Remove tool, then disassemble strut.

Remove threaded cap using removal tool 2069 or equivalent, then pull out shock absorber, Fig. 5.

Reverse procedure to assemble, noting the following:
a. Ensure splines on CV joint and wheel hub are free of oil, grease and old locking compound.
b. Apply locking compound around splines in a bead not more than 1/4 inch wide.
c. Allow locking compound to harden for at least one hour.
d. Tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
e. Check front wheel alignment, adjusting as necessary.
