Shift Linkage: Adjustments

80/90 MODELS

1.

Place shift lever in neutral.

2.

Remove shift knob, screw for boot, and boot.

3.

Loosen clamp bolt, then position shift lever as close to vertical as possible.

4.

Align lever so that both lugs on ball stop are equidistant from ball housing.

5.

Tighten bolt and ensure that lever does not move.

6.

Check function of shifter by shifting through all gears.

7.

Lever must be in the 3rd/4th shift plane in neutral.

8.

Ensure that Reverse safety catch is effective. If not, loosen screws retaining ball housing, turn the ball housing slightly, then retighten screws.

9.

Reinstall shift boot and retaining screw.
