Removing and installing air recirculation flap control motorV113
Removing and installing air recirculation flap control motor -V113-
  Note
t  If necessary, the „Guided fault-finding“ function can be used to additionally check actuation of the electrical air conditioner components, e.g. by way of the interchange test in the „Basic setting“ routine → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  Depending on the operating unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-, the air recirculation flap control motor -V113- on vehicles manufactured in 2010 may also be displayed as fresh air/recirculated air, air flow flap control motor -V425- or fresh air and air recirculation flap control motor -V154- → Vehicle diagnostic tester, „Guided fault-finding“ function.
   
Removing
–  Remove the fresh air blower → Chapter.
–  Screw out the bolts -2, 4-.
–  Release the fasteners -arrows- and detach the mount with control motor -1-.
–  Unplug the connector -3-.

–  Carefully press the retainer tabs -arrows- outwards and take the control motor -A- out of the mount -B-.
Installing
l  Tightening torque → Chapter.
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
  Note
The control motor mount must be replaced if the retainer tabs in the mount have broken off.
–  Insert the new control motor -A- in the mount -B-.

–  Position the mount with the control motor at the top of the housing.
–  The lever -2- for the fresh air flap must engage in the pin at the control motor -3-.
–  The pin at the air recirculation flap lever -1- must engage in the hole at the control motor.
–  Press the mount -4- with control motor fully onto the housing.
  Note
The mount is not properly positioned on the housing if the bolts cannot be fitted.
–  To check operation of the control motor, connect an adapter cable → Chapter or use a test lead from the adapter set -V.A.G 1594C- to connect contacts „5“ and „6“ of the control motor by way of a 5 A fuse to a 12 V battery.
  Note
Allow the control motor to turn as far as the stop. The direction of rotation can be reversed by interchanging positive and negative.
–  Fit the fresh air blower → Chapter.
On completion of repair work, perform the following operations on the operating unit in the „Guided fault-finding“ function → Vehicle diagnostic tester:
–  Interrogate the event recorder and delete any entries displayed.
–  Perform basic setting.
–  Perform final control diagnosis.
