Removing windscreen   WARNING When removing window glass, ALWAYS wear protective goggles and leather gloves. –  Remove wiper arms → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.92. –  Remove cowl panel trim. –  Remove sun visors (left, centre and right) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70. –  Remove interior mirror → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68. –  Remove trim for A-pillars (top) → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.70.

–  Using an awl, pierce adhesive bead from inside at bottom left corner of windscreen. –  Thread cutting thread into awl. –  Pull awl with thread through adhesive bead and into vehicle interior.

–  Position cutting thread under glass all round windscreen.

–  Fasten end of cutting thread to bolt for securing wing panel. –  Insert protective foil - A2 windscreen -V.A.G 1474/17- at A-pillar (left-side) between windscreen and dash panel.

–  Secure start of cutting thread in reel device and cut out first section of glass (approx. up to centre of windscreen). –  Move protective foil - Audi A2 windscreen -V.A.G 1474/15- towards the A-pillar on the right side to protect the dash panel.

–  Move reel device to next position as shown in illustration and fit guide roller. l  Route cutting thread as illustrated. –  Cut out glass up to the point where the cutting thread no longer runs in the guide roller.

–  Remove guide roller and continue to cut out glass.

–  Move reel device to next position as shown and attach guide roller in top corner of windscreen. l  Route cutting thread as illustrated. –  Insert protective foil - Audi A2 windscreen -V.A.G 1474/15- between windscreen and moulded headliner. –  Cut out glass up to the point where the cutting thread no longer runs in the guide roller. –  Remove guide roller and continue to cut out glass. –  Now repeat these steps in the top left and bottom left corners of the windscreen. –  Completely cut out windscreen following this procedure. –  Remove glass from window opening using double suction lifters.
