Removing –  Lift vehicle far enough to take weight off front wheels. Vehicles with hexagon socket nut –  Remove hexagon socket nut from drive shaft with 19 mm hexagon key, e.g. Hazet No. 985. Vehicles with 12-point nut –  Remove 12-point nut from drive shaft with 36 mm socket -T10125-. All vehicles (continued): –  Unscrew bolt from brake hose bracket → Brake system; Rep. Gr.46. –  Remove wheel. Vehicles with forged steel wishbone and integral swivel joint –  Unscrew nut from swivel joint.

–  Apply ball joint puller -3287 A--1- as shown in the illustration and press out swivel joint.   Note! Take care not to damage rubber boot when inserting ball joint puller. Vehicles with fabricated wishbone and bolt-on swivel joint –  Mark positions of bolts securing swivel joint to wishbone.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-. –  Pull wheel bearing housing with swivel joint out of wishbone. All vehicles (continued): –  Remove protective caps.

–  Unscrew and remove both guide pins -arrows- from brake caliper. –  Take off the brake caliper housing and secure with wire so that the brake hose does not take the weight of the brake caliper and is not damaged.

–  Remove hexagon nut -1- from coupling rod. –  Pull coupling rod -3- out of anti-roll bar -2-.

–  Press out drive shaft.   Note! Ensure sufficient clearance when pressing out drive shaft. –  Remove drive shaft from wheel bearing housing and tie up. The drive shaft must not hang down under its own weight. Otherwise the inner joint will be bent too far and will be damaged.

–  Pivot suspension strut outwards and hold in place with a wooden block or similar -1-. –  Remove cross-head screw for brake disc and take off brake disc. –  Remove splash plate. –  Remove speed sensor from wheel bearing housing.
