Removing and installing front door lock with operating elements up to VIN 8L XA 000 000

Assembly overview

  • Bolt (2x)
    • ◆ Tightening torque 9.5 Nm.
  • Lock base plate
  • Door lock
    • ◆ Removal:
    • ‒ Remove door subframe
    • ‒ Remove cover for door lock .
    • ‒ Unclip securing and operating rods => Page 57-15.
 
A57-0022
    • ‒ Detach connecting hose from actuator for central locking system.
    • ‒ Unscrew bolts -1-.
    • ‒ Remove door lock and lock base plate -2-
    • ◆ Installation:
    • ‒ Install in reverse order.
  • Bowden cable for interior door handle.
    • ◆ Removal:
    • ‒ Remove door subframe
    • ‒ Remove cover for door lock .
    • ‒ Release Bowden cable (shown released in magnified view), unclip downwards and disengage from door lock.
    • ◆ Installation:
    • ‒ Install in reverse order.
