| By turning the rotary air distribution control -B-, move the flexible shaft -C- into the position in which the fastener -D- of the shaft is visible in the gear mechanism -F- of the heater (air conditioning unit). |

| Release the base plate of the heater controls (air conditioner controls) from the centre console → Chapter. |
Note The Bowden cable for the temperature flap (only fitted with heater controls) does not have to be detached. |

| Detach the flexible shaft -C- from the base plate -A- → Chapter. |

| Use a small screwdriver to carefully lift the fastener -D- in the mount -E- and pull the flexible shaft out of the mount in the gear mechanism of the heater (air conditioning unit). |
Note A gear mechanism is fitted in the base plate of the heater/air conditioner controls -A- and in the heater/air conditioning unit. One turn of the rotary air distribution knob causes the flexible shaft -B- to turn twice. |
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following: |

| As the position of the flaps cannot be seen with the dash panel installed, pay attention to the procedure for connecting the flexible shaft to the base plate → Chapter. |
