Separating
–  Remove gear knob together with gear lever boot → Chapter.
–  Unclip frame of gear lever boot from centre console cover -arrows-.
  A34-0606
–  Score into the connecting piece with a sharp knife at the point marked -arrow-.
–  Then bend out the connecting piece, open it apart and remove.
Assembling
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Fit gear lever boot on gear knob, using a new connecting piece -arrow-.
–  Install gear knob together with boot → Chapter.
