–  Move selector lever to “P”
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove ignition key
  Defective selector mechanism or defective steering lock
–  Use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051- to read out fault memory.
–  Renew defective components

 Can selector lever be shifted out of “P” when the button is pressed?→Yes→
t  Incorrectly adjusted selector lever cable?
t  Are connectors on selector mechanism defective?
→Yes→
–  Check and, if necessary, adjust selector lever cable

–  Check connectors

–  Insert ignition key
–  Press brake pedal
–  Switch on ignition

–  It must be possible to shift selector lever to “R, N, D or S”

 Can ignition key be removed?→→Yes→→↑←←←← No

–  Press brake pedal
–  Move selector lever to “P”
→It is possible to remove ignition key and selector lever is blocked while in “P”.
