Separating engine from direct shift gearbox Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Workshop hoist -VAS 6100-

t  Retainer -T10013- t  Bolt M8x40 with nut and washer with Ø 30 mm

Procedure l  Engine/gearbox assembly removed and attached to engine support. –  Unscrew bolts -1- and -2- at bracket -A- for bevel box and remove bracket.

–  Disconnect coolant hoses -arrows- at gearbox oil cooler.

–  Remove the pin from retainer -T10013-; to do so, remove circlip. –  Secure retainer -T10013- with a bolt M8x40 and washer Ø 30 mm to the gearbox lifting eye. –  Attach workshop hoist -VAS 6100- to retainer -T10013-.

–  Remove bolts -1-, -2- and -5 ... 10- on engine/gearbox flange. –  Separate gearbox from engine.
