• ◆ 17 mm hexagon socket attachment

or

• ◆ Socket attachment 3357

Notes:

• ◆ The vehicle must be absolutely horizontal when checking gearbox oil level. This work is best performed over an inspection pit or using a 4 column lifting platform.
• ◆ The oil filler plug is on the left of the gearbox below the speedometer sender; it may be concealed by the heat shield for the drive shaft.

• ◆ → Depending on the version fitted, use either special tool 3357 or a 17 mm hexagon socket wrench to loosen the oil filler plug.
• ◆ Use special tool 3357 to loosen the oil drain plug.

• ‒ → Unscrew oil filler plug (arrow) to check oil level.
• ‒ Check oil level using a shop-built tool, e.g. a piece of angled wire.
• ‒ Specified value: oil level 7 mm below bottom edge of oil filler hole

Note:

The oil can be filled up to the bottom edge of the oil filler hole when servicing.

• ‒ Top up with gear oil, if necessary: Specification => from Page 00-3.
• ‒ Fit oil filler plug.
