Removing and installing operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-

Removing

t	Removal on vehicles with no radio navigation system or radio with large control panel

–	Reach from underneath into centre console and release operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- from centre console.

Note

If operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- cannot be removed, proceed as for vehicles with radio navigation system.

t	Removal on vehicles with radio navigation system or radio with large control panel

–	Remove radio or radio navigation system → Radio, telephone, navigation; Rep. Gr.91.

–	Reach through this opening and slide operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- to rear out of centre console.

Note

t	The operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- is held in position in the centre console by way of 4 clips -A-.

t	In the event of incorrect dash panel temperature sensor -G56- measurements, check intake grille of operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- trim panel (must not be closed off) as well as operation of temperature sensor blower -V42-.

t	On replacing operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-, pay attention to precise assignment (e.g. without or with heated seat switch) → Parts List.

t	Operating and display units, Climatronic control unit -J255- for vehicles with no radio navigation system -A- are additionally provided with a trim panel -B- with 2 bolts -C-.

–	Release connectors -A- to -D- and -F- by pressing retainer tabs and unplug connectors.

–	Screw out bolts -C-, slide trim panel -B- to right and detach it from operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255--A-.

–	Install in reverse order.
