| – | Only loosen rear nut on rear lid and unscrew the two nuts on the side. |
| – | Unscrew bolts beneath rear shelf and take out hinge. |
| q | Installing: |
| – | Insert hinge under rear shelf and secure lightly with nuts. |
| – | Position rear lid on hinge and secure with nuts. |
| – | Engage spring and gas strut. |
| – | Carefully close rear lid. |
| – | Align rear lid at sides and lengthwise. |

| – | With rear lid open, first attach spring to hinge and then to body. |
| – | On left side of vehicle, spring eye on retaining pin must point downwards, as shown in detail view. |
| – | On right side it should point upwards. |

| – | On right side of vehicle, attach spring at point -a-. |
| – | On left side, attach spring at location -d- after installing buffer stop for rear lid hinge. |

| q | Note different direction of attachment of spring on left and right. |
| q | On left side spring should point downwards, on right side it should point upwards. |
