Removing and installing head restraint guide
Removing and installing head restraint guide
Removing
–  Remove head restraint → Chapter.
–  Detach cover with padding from backrest pan:
t  → Chapter „Removing and installing seat cover and padding for split rear seat backrest (with load-through hatch)“.
t  → Chapter „Removing and installing seat cover and padding (backrest with cover for backrest bracket / storage compartment)“.
t  → Chapter „Removing and installing seat cover and padding (fixed rear seat backrest)“.
   
–  Fold up padding with cover -1- until head restraint post -2- welded into backrest pan -3- with head restraint guide -4- is visible.
–  Press down retaining tab -arrow A- until head restraint guide is no longer locked.
  Note
-Arrow B- can be disregarded.
–  Lift head restraint guide out of head restraint post.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
–  Slide head restraint guide -4- into head restraint post -2- until retaining tab -arrow A- engages in opening -arrow B-.
–  Prior to further installation of padding with cover, check whether the two head restraint guides are engaged in head restraint posts and can no longer be pulled out.
