Removing
   
The vacuum pump is located at the rear of the right-side cylinder bank, as seen in the direction of travel -arrow-.

–  Carefully pull engine cover panel away from retaining pins, one after the other.
  Note
Due to restricted space in the engine compartment, it is recommended to remove the vacuum pump before disconnecting the vacuum line, and to re-connect the vacuum line before installing the pump.

–  Remove plenum chamber cover → Rep. gr.50.
  Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.

–  Disconnect vacuum line and vacuum hose at back of plenum chamber partition panel -2-.

–  Pull vacuum line -1- out of plenum chamber partition panel -2-.

–  Remove all bolts -arrows- from sealing flange of vacuum pump.
–  Pull vacuum pump out of its mounting.
–  Disconnect vacuum line from vacuum pump after removing pump.
Installing
  Note
Renew seal.
Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
–  Connect vacuum line to vacuum pump before installing pump.
Pay attention to correct installation position.
–  Turn drive lugs of vacuum pump so they engage in slots in camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.
–  Fit vacuum pump in position.
–  Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
–  Fit all bolts to sealing flange of vacuum pump and tighten. → Item
–  Fit vacuum line into plenum chamber partition panel.
–  Connect vacuum line and vacuum hose at back of plenum chamber partition panel.
–  Install plenum chamber cover → Rep. gr.50.
–  Install engine cover panel.
