Removing
   
The vacuum pump is located in the rear of the engine compartment -arrow-, as seen in the direction of travel.

–  Detach engine cover panel.
The plenum chamber partition panel does not have to be removed.

–  Remove pressure sensor -1- for diesel particulate filter from bracket.
–  Unclip pressure sensor pipe -2- and carefully press to the side.
–  Remove bracket for pressure sensor at vacuum pump.
–  Unscrew coolant pipe at bracket and at left engine transportation shackle and press to the side.

–  Detach vacuum hose -1- from vacuum pump.

–  Remove all bolts -arrows- from sealing flange of vacuum pump.
–  Pull vacuum pump out of its mounting.
Installing
  Note
Renew seal.
Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
–  Turn drive lugs of vacuum pump so they engage in slots in camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.
–  Fit vacuum pump in position.
–  Ensure that seal is seated correctly.

–  Fit all bolts -arrows- on sealing flange of vacuum pump and tighten. → Item
–  Connect vacuum hose to vacuum pump.
–  Screw coolant pipe into bracket and left engine transportation shackle.

–  Fit bracket for pressure sensor -1- of diesel particulate filter at vacuum pump.
–  Secure bracket.
–  Clip pressure sensor pipes into bracket.
–  Tighten pressure sensor.
–  Install engine cover panel.
