Removing and installing vacuum pump (V6 FSI)
Removing and installing vacuum pump (V6 FSI)
The vacuum pump is located in the front of the engine compartment on the left side.
Removing
   
–  Carefully pull engine cover panels away from retaining pins, one after the other.
–  Slacken hose clip on vacuum hose.
  Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.
–  Detach vacuum hose from vacuum pump.
–  Remove all bolts from sealing flange of vacuum pump.
–  Pull vacuum pump out of its mounting.
Installing
  Note
Renew seal.
Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
–  Turn drive lugs of vacuum pump so they engage in slots in camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.
–  Fit vacuum pump in position.
–  Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
–  Fit all bolts to sealing flange of vacuum pump and tighten → Item.
–  Slide new hose clip onto vacuum hose.
–  Slide vacuum hose onto connection on vacuum pump.
–  Use suitable pliers to tighten hose clip on connection of vacuum pump.
–  Carefully fit engine cover panels into retaining pins, one after the other.
