Removing and installing footwell vent temperature sender G192 / left footwell vent temperature sender G261
Removing and installing footwell vent temperature sender -G192- / left footwell vent temperature sender -G261-
The footwell vent temperature sender -G192- is fitted with an air conditioner of the „Basic“ type.
The left footwell vent temperature sender -G261- is fitted with an air conditioner of the „Deluxe“ type.
  Note
There are different designations for the currently identical sender depending on the air conditioner version → Chapter (components of air conditioning unit).
Removing
–  Move the driver's seat to the rearmost position.
–  Switch off the ignition.
–  Remove the storage compartment beneath the dash panel on the driver side → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
   
–  Unplug the connector -A-.
–  Give the sender -B- a 90° turn and pull it out of the left (driver side) footwell vent.
Installing
Install in reverse order; paying attention to the following:
–  Check the seal -C- for damage and proper attachment.
–  Re-install all the parts removed in reverse order.
–  Interrogate the event recorder of the operating and display unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- and erase any faults displayed → "Guided fault-finding" function of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
