Removing and installing selector lever sensors control unitJ587 and tiptronic switchF189
Removing and installing selector lever sensors control unit -J587- and tiptronic switch -F189-
  Note
Selector lever sensors control unit -J587- and tiptronic switch -F189- are integrated in one unit.
   
Removing
–  Remove selector lever handle → Chapter.
–  Remove multimedia operating unit -E380- → Rep. Gr.91.
–  Remove front ashtray → Rep. Gr.68.

–  Unplug electrical connector -1-.
–  Release 4 retaining tabs -arrows- and lift out selector lever sensors control unit -J587- with tiptronic switch -F189-.
  Note
-Arrows A- can be disregarded.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Make sure selector lever sensors control unit -J587- with tiptronic switch -F189- clicks in place with 4 retaining tabs -arrows-.
–  Secure wiring for selector lever position display -Y26--arrows-.
–  Install front ashtray → Rep. Gr.68.
–  Install multimedia operating unit -E380- → Rep. Gr.91.
–  Install selector lever handle → Chapter.
