Removing and installing control unit 1 for information electronics -J794-
The control unit 1 for information electronics -J794- is located in the dash panel.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Radio release tool -T10057-
  W00-1042
t  Protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9-
–  Switch off all electrical equipment.
–  Remove ignition key.
–  When renewing control unit, select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“.
To do so, use → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
  W00-10202
–  Insert two radio release tools -T10057- into release slots on control unit 1 for information electronics -J794- until they engage. Pointed ends of tool grips must face outwards.
–  Pull control unit 1 for information electronics -J794- out of mounting frame.
–  Press release tabs on control unit 1 for information electronics -J794- and remove radio release tools -T10057-.
–  Release and unplug connectors at control unit 1 for information electronics -J794-.

–  Fit protective cap for cable connector -VAS 6223/9--1- onto MOST bus connector -2-.
Installing
–  Plug in all connectors.
–  Slide control unit 1 for information electronics -J794- into mounting frame until it engages.
