Timing Belt: Adjustments

Adjust toothed belt tension by turning tensioner with 8mm allen wrench clockwise to tighten the belt and counterclockwise to loosen and hold.

Tighten tensioner mounting bolt with second 8mm allen wrench.

Check belt tension by holding the belt half way between right camshaft sprocket and coolant pump with thumb and index finger, it must be just
possible to twist the belt by 90°.

Torque tensioner mounting.

Torque 45Nm (33 ft lb).
