Removing and installing noise insulation
Removing and installing noise insulation
Removing
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Remove gear knob with gear lever boot → Chapter.
   
–  Remove multimedia system operating unit -E380- → Rep. gr.91.
  A91-11011
–  Release retaining tabs -1- in direction of -arrow-. At the same time, lift rear end of noise insulation slightly.
–  Pull noise insulation out of tabs -3-.
–  Pull boot -2- off gear lever in direction of -arrow-.

Installing
–  Insert noise insulation into tabs -1- and press down until retaining tabs -2- engage.
–  Pull boot over gear lever and into rounded groove -arrow A-.
–  Press support ring in boot over gear lever bearing as far as stop in direction of -arrow B-.
The remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Install multimedia system operating unit -E380- → Rep. gr.91.
–  Install gear knob with gear lever boot → Chapter.
