Removing
  Note
t  → Chapter „Repair instructions“.
t  → Chapter „Rules for cleanliness when working on the dual clutch gearbox“.
–  Remove noise insulation panels -1- and -2- → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.66.

A5 Cabriolet/Sportback:
–  Remove diagonal struts (left and right) → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.42.

Continued for all vehicles:
–  Remove subframe cross brace → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.40.
  Caution
Risk of damage to parts of the running gear.
Do not let the vehicle down on the wheels if the gearbox mounting, steering box and subframe cross brace are not properly installed.
Continued for all vehicles:
–  Drain ATF → Chapter.
  Caution
Risk of damage to gearbox
The engine must not be started when there is no more ATF in the gearbox.

–  Slacken bolts -1 … 15- in diagonal sequence.
–  Remove ATF oil pan.
  Note
-Arrows- can be disregarded.

Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:

Renew bolts and gasket for ATF oil pan.
–  Clean sealing surfaces.
–  Insert studs -arrow- on new gasket -2- into ATF oil pan -1-.
–  Secure gasket to ATF oil pan with clips -3- (if fitted).

–  Clean magnets -arrows- in ATF oil pan.
–  Ensure that magnets make full contact with ATF oil pan.

–  Tighten bolts for ATF oil pan → Fig..
–  Install subframe cross brace → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.40.
–  Install diagonal struts → Running gear, front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive; Rep. gr.42.
–  Fill up with ATF → Chapter.
