Check DTC memory of A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
in "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Set the A/C control head climatronic control module (J255) to "Auto" ("Comfort" system).

-

Using the MMI set "automatic air recirculation" in the A/C control head climatronic control module (J255). Refer to (=> Refer to the Infotainment
/ MMI Owner's Manual).

-

Wait 2 minutes. (air quality sensor (G238) warm up time).

-

Using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051) select "read measured values block " and then read the measured values for
the air quality sensor (G238). Refer to => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function. 

‹› The Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) portion and the Carbon Monoxide (CO) portion in the air measured by the air quality sensor (G238) is displayed in the

measured values block; explanation for possible displays. Refer to =>     Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in
"Guided Fault Finding" function.

Rotate the air quality sensor (G238) -  A - approximately 90 degrees to the left and remove it from the fresh air intake - C -.

Allow a little bit of butane from the lighter to flow past -  B - from the top area - A - of the air quality sensor (G238)

‹› If the air quality sensor (G238) comes in contact with cigarette smoke or with butane gas from a lighter, it will react since butane gas is heavier

than air; remove the air quality sensor (G238).

Select and read the air quality sensor (G238) measured values. Refer to => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
