B-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing
B-pillar Trim, Removing And Installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim removal wedge 3409
Removing
CAUTION:
-
Observe safety precautions for work on side curtain airbag.
-
Do not connect side curtain airbag when installing upper A-pillar trim - 1 -.
-
Position drivers or passengers seat as far forward as possible using fore and aft adjustment.

Remove outer seat belt anchorage point (on front seat).
Vehicles with B-pillar vent
-
Carefully unclip vent from B-pillar trim starting at upper side facing toward molded headliner. Press spring clip when doing so.

Then remove vent from B-pillar trim.
Procedure for all vehicles

Unclip B-pillar trim from sill panel strip and body beginning at lower area using Trim Removal Wedge 3409.

Remove B-pillar trim from molded headliner and front belt guide.
-
Thread belt webbing out of B-pillar trim.
NOTE: The "Airbag" sign on the B-pillar trim is welded on and cannot be removed.
Installing
Installation is reverse of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
CAUTION:

Observe safety precautions for work on side curtain airbag.

Do not connect side curtain airbag when installing upper A-pillar trim - 1 -.
NOTE:
-
If trim clamps remain in body mounting points, remove these and insert them in trim.

Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

Ensure belt webbing is not twisted.
-
When installing trim, do not press belt height adjustment button.
-
During installation, attach trim from bottom upwards toward belt height adjuster.
