Footwell Flap Motor
Footwell Flap Motor
‹› The name for this control motor depends on the version of the A/C system (of front A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255)), it is
different in On Board Diagnostics (OBD) and in wiring diagram of "Comfort" version and "Basic" version.
‹› On vehicles with "Basic" version A/C system, left and right footwell flaps are operated by the Left Footwell Flap Motor (V108) (both left and
right flaps are connected to each other via a shaft respectively, motor is installed at right on heating & A/C unit), control motor is designated "left"
and installed on right side on heating & A/C unit.
‹› Right Footwell Flap Motor Position Sensor (G140) is installed in Right Footwell Flap Motor (V109).
‹› Left Footwell Flap Motor Position Sensor (G139) is installed in Left Footwell Flap Motor (V108).
Removing

Remove retaining plate - C - with control motors (V158) ((V159)) and (V109) ((V108)) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Retaining

Mark the control motors if necessary (versions vary).

Remove bolts - D - from control motor (V109) ((V108)) - B - and remove motor.
Installing
Remove control motor on retaining plate.

Install retaining plate - C - with control motors (V158) ((V159)) and (V109) ((V108)) => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Retaining

‹› Check the lever position of the control motors before installing retaining plate, the retaining plate can only be installed correctly when it is located
in the service position => [ Retaining Plate with Control Motors ] See: Retaining Plate with Control Motors.

Install the removed components again in reverse order.

Check DTC memory of front A/C control head Climatronic Control Module (J255) and erase DTCs displayed if necessary. => Vehicle Diagnosis,
Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Perform basic setting (and output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) if necessary) on the A/C system. => Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information
